Shelter is a collaborative work with Barcelona-based artist Brooke Borg.  Participants are invited to fill out questionnaires about their troubled family relationships and place them inside the Shelter, an 8’ hexagonal tent-like structure that is suspended over a pile of coal on a velvet cushion.

Hand-painted and embroidered silk panels and silhouettes
Viewers were invited to inscribe yellow pieces of paper with their desires for their own troubled relationships, and insert them into the pile of coal at the center of the installation.
People entered the Shelter to contribute their wishes, and also to read the inscriptions of others.
